Welcome to the newest edition of the Humane News -- our April 2010 issue, Volume 41, No. 2. As always, it's another packed issue with a variety of fascinating news items and follow-ups on Society alumnae and so much more. Our Happy Endings spread features a bunch of dogs who were in need of loving homes and found them, not to mention Glenda - the piggy who was abandoned on the side of the road. AHS is making sure that these needy animals go to the best forever homes. But it doesn't mean that many are not in the same need. Read about Street, abandoned in the blizzard, Baby who waited for her master's return not knowing he had passed away, and Tiffany, a victim of domestic abuse. They are special cases, as are all the cats and dogs on our adoption pages, each with their own story.
This issue we also have a special focus on several critical areas affecting animals - domestic violence, legal rulings, animals in entertainment, pet theft and more.
We celebrate many, many people who have made life better for the animals - kids on our junior pages and individual adults and organizations on our special Donations page. There are pages of special stories on Animals in the News plus we have lots of updates on legislation, and what's happening in New Jersey, New york, the USA and around the world. Plus some news on the food and vegetarian front, too!
