BARNEGAT, NJ – Ranger Dave Sharpe, Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park’s educational ambassador, will meet visitors and answer questions at the 5th annual Barnegat Pet Day, Saturday, May 15.
Associated Humane Societies will also have a display of pets available for adoption and important literature on pet care and ways to support AHS.
Meg, a SharPei mix, and Deuce Bigelow, a Seal-point Siamese cat, are two of the animals currently available for adoption at our Forked River shelter
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Meadowedge Park, 550 East Bay Avenue. The annual event draws hundreds of pets and their humans, with its activities, events and displays. There will also be a Pet Blessing, a parade and more.

“The Associated Humane Societies is an important part of the community. We are happy to participate in this local celebration of all things pet-related,” said Roseann Trezza, Executive Director Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park. “It’s a great opportunity for Barnegat residents and folks from around the area to come by, have some fun, learn a bit and support our efforts.”
