AHS/Popcorn Park Features Homeless Pets
at Adopt-A-Thon and Fun Fair
Suzie and Sarge are just two of the many orphaned dogs hoping to find a forever family at the Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park Adopt-a-thon and Music Festival at Silverton Organic Farms, Saturday September 25.
The event runs from noon to 5 p.m. at the farm. Silverton Farms is located at 1520 Silverton Road in Toms River, convenient to Route 9 and Garden State Parkway Exit 88. Admission is free.
Although the pets cannot be adopted directly at the event, AHS/Popcorn Park will present many of their homeless dogs who are looking to start new lives. Adoption forms will be available and guests can formally adopt the pets at AHS’ three Animal Shelters in Newark, Tinton Falls or Forked River.
Aside from finding a new family member, adopt-a-thon visitors will be treated to a variety of events, shows and displays for everyone of all ages. Of course the folks from Silverton Farms will be selling fresh organic produce. A live Blue Grass band will provide music throughout the day and a psychic will give readings. Along with a flea market, there will be vendors selling K-9 Confections, bird houses, jewelry, Bee's Cakes, crafts, quilts, teddy bears, Tastefully Simple gourmet foods and more!
“We are grateful to the folks at Silverton Organic Farms for opening their business in a way that will help us help so many homeless pets. It’s going to be a great day out for all animal lovers and area residents. We hope to get a huge crowd,” said Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park Executive Director Roseann Trezza.
There is a rain date of Sunday, Sept. 26th.
