Winter Pet Food Drive to Benefit Associated Humane Societies
As many prepare holiday baskets for needy families and donate to area food pantries, three area cousins have undertaken their own food drive – for animals.
The Cans for Canines and Felines campaign spearheaded by Diane Scavelli of Colts Neck and her cousins, Jessica and Alexa McFadden, of Marlboro runs now through February 28. Donations will be handed over to Associated Humane Societies for use at the Tinton Falls Animal Care Center and other local animal agencies.

These three cousins are collecting non-perishable, canned pet food for dogs and cats from November 1, 2010 until February 28, 2011. Donations of canned pet food can be dropped off at Garden State Veterinary Specialists located at One Pine Street in Tinton Falls, just off Asbury Avenue. Items can also be dropped off directly at the AHS Tinton Falls Animal Care Facility, at 2960 Shafto Road.
“During this season of giving, we always look to our guardian angels. Just as area food banks are in greater need for donations this time of year, our need for donations increases too. We are extremely grateful that Diane, Jessica and Alexa understand this need and found a way to help,” said Roseann Trezza, Executive Director, Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park.
