AHS Newark Dogs Available at PetSmart Adoption Event, Jan. 9
BRIDGEWATER, NJ – Several dogs from the Associated Humane Societies’ Newark Animal shelter will be the first to greet patrons of the Bridgewater PetSmart during the store’s first Adoption Event, from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, in the hopes of finding their forever homes.
Some of the dogs include: Baylee, a young Golden Retriever/Dachshund mix who was abandoned in front of the shelter on Christmas Eve; Percy, an adult male purebred Pomeranian; and Blu, a five-month-old Pit Bull who was brought to the shelter just days after being given as a Christmas gift.
“These dogs are just a small representation of the many animals currently available for adoption at our Newark shelter,” said Roseann Trezza, Executive Director, Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park. “We hope the dogs find families to love them at this event, and that others who visit PetSmart on Sunday are inspired to visit our shelters and find new family members of their own.”
All the dogs at the event have been temperament evaluated, given shots, microchips and will be spayed or neutered upon adoption. Standard adoption fees apply to all of the animals at the event.
