Stray Shih Tzu's Ear Damaged by Elastic Band



This young female Shih Tzu was meant to live a luxurious life, resting comfortably on a plush bed with sumptuous doggy treats being fed to her on a dainty crystal dish. But that isnít how life started out for this beautiful little dog.

She was found on a heavily traveled street in need of help. The pup, estimated to be about 6 months old, was in obvious need of help. Brought to the Societyís Newark facility, staffers immediately sent her to the Medical Dept. for what appeared to be an injury to her ear. The veterinarian discovered that the source of the injury was an elastic band that had been deliberately placed around the ear. Had it remained there much longer, it may have done more severe damage.

We call her Elle and she is responding to lots of tender care and continued monitoring of the healing of her ear. The quiet, gentle lass has won the hearts of the Society staff Ö. and now we are hoping that Cupid will find the forever home that she deserves. If you would like to help Elle with her medical care, the Society has the Res-Q Fund which helps us to continue to help sick and injured orphaned animals.

We are still hoping for the luxurious life laying on a plush bed with a crystal dish filled with doggy treats.
