He was a beautiful little pup that has already cheated death twice. In 2007, an employee of a Newark factory was running a trash compactor when she heard some cries. She immediately shut off the power and dug through the trash where she found a 2 week old pup, that had been deliberately thrown in the compactor to be cruelly killed.
The factory owner brought the helpless pup to the Society where an employee bottle fed it for several weeks until it was old enough to find a lifetime commitment. A resident of Lake Como visited the Tinton Falls facility and it appeared that the pup was going to have a love-filled life.

With a 7 year old daughter at home, it was thought this would be a wonderful family. When the pup would jump on the daughter to express his delight, the family did not try to correct him -- they tied him outside -- and there he has been for the last 3 years.
When the Society received a complaint that the dog was not being cared for, an Animal Control Officer was dispatched to the scene and impounded him. Thankfully, this dog has been surrendered to the Society. He has not had a day filled with love and acceptance since he left our shelter.
Like many puppies, he was a bright shiny penny ..... but it didn't take long for the newness to wear off.
The 3 1/2 year old fella started out as an unwanted pup .... and that is how he has been treated all of his life. We are hoping to change that now.
