When the Society adopted out two mixed breeds to a Newark resident, we had to “repo” the dogs as the Adoption Application and contracts included false information on their alleged new home and the motivation for the adoption. Two days after the adoption, Society staffers went to follow up on their conditions. One of them was used as a guard dog at a used car dealership on Broad St. in Newark. We repo’d the dog and it was ascertained that the other dog was in Harrison. Our Animal Control Officer followed the individuals to a Harrison address where we repo’d the other dog.
Above right is Cash, (alias Froy)
Now they are back at the Society where they have been placed for adoption. In the meantime, they are included in the Share-A-Pet Program. A popular cable television program, "Operation Repo" can be seen on truTV about the repossession of cars, boats, planes, etc. So in keeping with the Operation Repo cast of characters, we have re-named them Froy and Matt – two of the stars of this reality type show for these two fellas' brief effort at distinction.

At left is Augie, (alias Matt)
Meet Cash and Augie – the two mixed breeds involved in our repo story. Originally they were given up by their owners in separate situations. They met at the Society’s Newark facilities where they have been waiting for adoption. Cash, the 4 year old Rottweiler mix had been waiting several months and 5 year old Augie had been with us a few days. Cash had been evaluated many months ago. “He is a handsome, fun-loving guy who is easy to walk and great with other dogs. He is not interested in toys or bones … just happy to sit for a treat. He is joyful, high-spirited family dog for families with older children”. The adoption process was a fair one and we are fortunate that we gave the extra effort to insure that they would have a life-long home with a family.
