The Phillie Phanatic will be greeting visitors on Thursday, May 26th between 1 and 2 pm at Popcorn Park Zoo to help spread the word about compassion for animals. The Phanatic, official mascot of the Major League Baseball team the Philadelphia Phillies, is well known to sports fans and children alike. Kids are drawn to the big, bright green bird with his silly antics, and who better to capture their attention with an important message?
Never has compassion for animals -- as well as for one another --been more important. Kindness and respect for our fellow creatures is an enduring value, but in today's busy lifestyles it may be a missing element in children's education. Popcorn Park Zoo is the finest example of how kindness and care have changed the lives of animals in desperate straits. The Phillie Phanatic will be a great celebrity draw, greeting children and adults alike to help bring home the message of love and compassion towards animals.
We hope you'll be there in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet the Phillies' mascot, the Phillie Phanatic, up close and personal. No prior arrangements need be made; simply join us between 1 and 2 pm, Thursday, May 26th and listen to the good advice he'll have about kindness to animals for all our visitors.
Popcorn Park Zoo is very grateful to the Philadelphia Phillies for their compassion in helping animals through the Phanatic's visit. Thanks, Phillies!!
