Ban on Electrocution of Fur-Bearing Animals Proposed
NEW YORK STATE S.2495 (Padavan)
This legislation would ban the electrocution of animals raised for fur. This method of killing animals includes thousands of mink, chinchillas, foxes & other animals raised in intensive confinement for furs. This cruel method of killing is preferred by that industry as it is inexpensive and does not damage the pelt. It has passed an Assembly committee & now goes to the New York State Senate Agriculture Committee and then the full Senate.
