Bernie is a gentle male cat that had been badly burned, and without any medical care, he slowly recuperated on his own. By the time he came to the Society, the wounds had festered and he suffered a secondary bacterial infection. In less than a few weeks, he has flourished beautifully. His wounds have healed and he thrives with all of the love and attention given by the medical staff. He has been neutered, is FIV negative, and has all necessary inoculations. Please contact us if interested in giving Bernie a wonderful home. File 104541.
Update 1/17/12 - Bernie is now a Share-A-Pet in Kity City in Forked River. You can sponsor or adopt Bernie!

Read about and look at `before' photos of Bernie and Dorie when they first arrived at AHS.
Dorie needed help after the warehouse cat had a portion of her tail cut off by machinery. Her kittens were old enough to be separated and put up for adoption. Mama Dorie needed to have a portion of her badly cut tail surgically removed and sutured. She has been spayed, was tested for FIV and is negative and is now getting the personalized attention that most of the strays never experience as they eke out survival in the inner city. They are the invisible, hopeless strays that stay in the shadows to avoid youths, dogs, cars -- and lead a pathetic existence to an abrupt end.
Dorie is now available for adoption. Please contact us if you can give her the love she deserves. File 104361.
