Jaden Turned Away from No-Kill Shelter

NO ROOM FOR SICK, STARVING DOG AT "NO-KILL" SHELTER IN CT

The Pit Bull/Mastiff mix was a sick, emaciated dog that an owner tied to the fence of a no-kill shelter in Connecticut. The manager of the shelter caught the man who was attempting to abandon the dog and he informed her that this was his last choice, otherwise, he would drop him off on the street. The manager acquiesced and took in the dog after getting background information.

Tragically, this massive animal had been forced to spend his time in a playpen or in the basement so as to be hidden from the owner's landlord. Due to the major injustice to this animal, the manager took him in. Sadly, the president of the no-kill shelter was told that the dog was not allowed there and so the manager brought him to her home, treated him, updated his vaccines, took care of the mange and then got him neutered. For this, the manager no longer has her job.

It seemed that no facilities had any room to take in this dog. The AHS was contacted, and Jaden is now happily staying at our Forked River facility where he is waiting for a home for the holidays! He is a big, strong guy, and would do well in a home without young children due to his massive size. He will sit, lay down, and also loves to roll on his back for a belly rub. After his miserable, constricted life, he is energetic, ebullient and deserves a great home with a big yard to run and play.

He is at the Forked River facility, File L-21087-NM. Contact us or call for more information, 609-693-1900.
