Alexa -Emaciated, Kept Tied Outside

When a probation officer called the Society, she was concerned about the safety and well being of her client's dog. The Neptune resident had tied his emaciated pit bull outside of his home. The Society's ACO responded to the call for assistance and found a young female brindle pit bull.

A discussion was held with the owner to ascertain the well being of his 5 month old dog. He advised that the dog had "worms" but was being treated by his veterinarian. A phone call to the vet revealed that this was false information. The pup's owner advised that he had purchased the pup from an Asbury Park resident.

A visit to the Asbury Park resident revealed a female and two male pit bulls and no puppies After a further conversation, the Neptune resident relinquished ownership of the youngster we call "Alexa". The matter is under further investigation.

For more information on Alexa, contact us or call the Society's Tinton Falls shelter at 732-922-0100, and refer to File 68687-F. Soon this sweet little girl will be needing a loving home. AHS is open 7 days a week for adoptions from 12 until 4. The Society is located at 2960 Shafto Road in Tinton Falls, near the Rt 33-34 Circle and off of Exit 102 A (Southbound) or Exit 100B (Northbound) on the Garden State Parkway.

Please make a donation to help us care for Alexa and the many other dogs and cats we take in who need a far better life than the one they've been living.
