ADOPTING A CAT IN JUNE IS A MEOWVELOUS IDEA!!!
The Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park is celebrating June as Adopt-A-Shelter Cat month in a new, meowvelous way!
Not only is it the purrrfect time to adopt a feline during the height of kitten season, but this year, the donation is PAY WHAT THE KITTY WEIGHS PLUS A SPAY! The adoption fee for any cat or kitten is whatever it weighs.
Upon approval of your adoption application, you need only pay for the cost of the kitty and $35 for neuter and $50 for spay. All kittens must be at least 3 pounds before adoption.
In addition to a beautiful kitty, you will receive the following at no charge: feline distemper inoculation, rabies inoculation, microchip, cat carrier, collar and i.d. tag.
If you are concerned about a cat/kitty being alone all day and being wide awake at 3 a.m., you might want to consider taking home two. Cats require exercise, mental stimulation and social interaction. Stimulating toys, a cushy bed, scratching posts are just some of the items needed to make the newest addition feel welcome in your home.
As an addition to the June celebration, the Society will spay/neuter any owned cat for a donation of $75 for a female cat and $50 for a male.
The Associated Humane Societies has veterinarians available at each of our locations: 124 Evergreen Ave. in Newark, 2960 Shafto Road in Tinton Falls and Humane Way and Lacey Road in Forked River. Vets are also available to render other medical care to your cats including distemper, rabies and feline leukemia testing as requested for an additional charge. Microchipping is also available for a fee of $20.
