Volunteers and dogs enjoying last year's Woofstock

WOOFSTOCK is an all-day fun event to benefit the Friends of the Newark Animal Shelter - the Associated Humane Societies. It is a family and pet friendly event full of excitement and good will. This is the second year of the Woofstock event and will be an AMAZING adoption effort promoted by Hell's Kitchen Lounge, 150 Lafayette St. in Newark. Last year the Woofstock celebration helped 10 dogs find a lifetime commitment of love. Woofstock promoters raised much-needed funds and hope to do more this year!

Frostie will be in attendance to greet potential adopters from 1 to 4 p.m.

The group is looking for volunteers, vendors of all kinds, donations, supplies, sponsorships. In order to make it kid friendly we are hoping for vendors with rides, i.e., bouncy castle, moon bounce, etc. After the adoption event, Hell's Kitchen is celebrating their anniversary - so feel free to stay for a night of fun. There is an outdoor stage with such groups performing as Gazelle, The Vapor Apes, Lethal Affection and more! The indoor stage will include Those Mockingbirds, At A Distance, Starbolt 9!

The Associated Humane Societies, located at 124 Evergreen Ave in Newark is open 7 days a week for adoptions.
