Pops - Homeless and Alone

How sad and tragic life is when the homeless give up, have no where to turn, and have no hope for themselves or the future.

The aging man had no possessions but his unkempt, badly matted dog. He may have been noticed by busy passersby as he hung around Newark's Penn Station. The local authorities questioned the man and it was ascertained that there was an outstanding warrant for him.

He was too tired and too old to go any further. He turned himself in to the Port Authority officer and said he could no longer provide for himself or his dog -- "Please take him and find him a home" is what he asked of the officer. The Port Authority officer brought in the older Lhasa Apso to the Society's Newark Animal Care Center where he was given a much-needed spa day.

Pops, ready to start his new life and be loved again.

We call this older fella "Pops", once someone's bonded companion. Now he is looking to become loved again and sheltered forever.

For more information on "Pops," contact us or call the Society's Tinton Falls shelter at 732-922-0100. This little guy has had a bump in the road and deserves a second chance at happiness.

AHS is open 7 days a week for adoptions from 12 until 4. The Society is located at 2960 Shafto Road in Tinton Falls, near the Rt 33-34 Circle and off of Exit 102 A (Southbound) or Exit 100B (Northbound) on the Garden State Parkway.

Please make a donation to help us care for "Pops" and the many other dogs and cats we take in who need a new start and a far better life than the one they've been living.
