Associated Humane Societies
& Popcorn Park

If you've ever been by our Kitty City at AHS/Popcorn Park, you will know who Carolina is immediately. She's the big, beautiful gal that is usually sprawled out on a bed, basking in the sun coming down from a skylight, curled up with her best pal of nearly a decade, Pep. Carolina always chose the biggest beds in the place. One would assume that, since Carolina is a full-figured gal, that she chose the big beds to have more room, but we have discovered that she chose those beds to allow for room for her pal Pep to snuggle up with her. Recently however, Carolina is choosing smaller beds to curl up in. For the first time in the nine years that she's been with us, she's alone in her bed, as Pep passed away. Carolina came to us in 2010 with several dogs and cats that we rescued from a horrifying testing facility in North Carolina. If you saw the treatment that Carolina received, you would have wondered if she would have ever trusted people again. It's a testament to her strength and resilience that Carolina not only trusts people, but she simply adores people. She loves everyone and doesn't have a resentful or negative bone in her body. She is an angel, and she moved right into our Kitty City where she has been ever since, becoming best pals with Pep and loving all of the other cats, her many wonderful sponsors, and our staff. Since Pep has passed away, it's very obvious that Carolina is heartbroken. We feel it may be time for a change for Carolina and we are now seeking a home for her, where she can get loads of attention and love, just like she deserves. She's about 13 years old now but she has many good years ahead of her that she would love to spend with a family of her own. If you can open your heart and home to Carolina, come in and meet her any day of the week from 12pm to 5pm. She'll be the big, sweet girl, sprawled out in the sunshine....
