Ivory 40428

ivory 40428

We can only imagine what Ivory went through that led her to sustain such brutal injuries. This 3 year old pittie mix was was found in early August as a stray that had recently been attacked. Our AHS Newark facility received the call about Ivory, and she was taken to Animal Emergency & Referral Associated in Fairfield for urgent medical care.Ivory had significant bite wounds around her head, neck and body. We hope this was the result of an accidental attack, but are sickened by the thought of it being deliberate. However it happened, poor Ivory sure didn't deserve this. She spent a good deal of time under medical care when she arrived back at AHS Newark and during that time, Ivory remained very reserved, and even reluctant in some cases to trust new people. In time, she began letting her guard down and once she came out of her shell, she never looked back. Now that Ivory has made so many new friends, she completely melts into their arms. She has bonded quickly with the vet tech that cared for her in our medical department and is over the moon happy to spend time with her, giving her tons of kisses with a constantly wagging tail. She will certainly be the same with a family of her own, given the time to get to know and trust them.Ivory is a well-behaved girl that sits nicely when asked and is very gentle with taking treats. She enjoys toys and has no problems with sharing them or giving up her bone when asked. Ivory is not comfortable with other dogs, which is understandable after all she's been through, so she'll need a home with no other pets and no young children. If you can open your heart and home to this deserving girl, please come to AHS Newark.
