popcorn park get two new residents- evie & sadie!

Meet Evie and her daughter Sadie, they're our newest senior residents. The Scottish Highlander cattle girls are 21 and 19 years old respectively. They have been together all their lives and when a small educational farm was closed by the township that owned it, the girls needed a temporary home.  We were called and we had the room, so we went the Saturday before last and picked them up.  Since then and a couple phone calls later, Evie and her daughter Sadie now have their new permanent home, right here at Popcorn Park.

Mom is just a sweetheart and loves to be brushed and groomed.  Sadie, not so much.  She much rather prefers her mom groom her, but we’re working on that.  These girls can pack away a bale of hay a day and 12 quarts of grain. They are both on medication to keep them comfortable in their senior years. Scottish Highlanders longevity is about 20 years.  These two are in good shape for their age and we expect Evie and Sadie to be with us for a long while.

You can help us care for these two ladies by sponsoring them through our Wildlife Club.  As a sponsor, you’ll get pictures and letters from the the girls about what they're doing and what's happening at the park three times a year, plus passes to the park and other sponsor perks.  Plus, you'll be supporting the important work that we do for animals here at AHS/Popcorn Park!
