Home Fry the Bunny- Another Hoarding Victim

Many good people love and care for multiple pets and give them wonderful homes, but when some people have multiple pets, they just keep getting more and more, until the situation gets out of control and the neglect begins.  Hoarding of animals is still such a problem no matter how many times people read about in the news, and animals are the ones to pay the price.  Home Fry is the latest victim of neglect by a hoarder.

Home Fry was removed from a hoarding situation by a local rescue and brought to us at AHS/Popcorn Park.  The male bunny is less than a year old and it's obvious that his first year of life was filled with pain and neglect.  Home Fry had multiple bite wounds on his tiny body as well as two large abscesses.  These wounds are most likely the result of being bullied by other rabbits.  What's worse is that he also has a broken back leg.  It doesn't seem possible that one small bunny could break the leg of another bunny, so we don't know what went on there....

Home Fry was examined and treated by our veterinarian and the little guy is on bed rest now, and is comfortable and happy for probably the first time in a long time.  Once Home Fry is all healed, he'll be ready to begin his search for a good home, where he'll be properly cared for and never harmed again.  Please consider making a donation to our ResQ Fund on behalf of Home Fry, as this is what enables us to continue to help all animals that are the victims of hoarders and suffer such neglect.  Contact 609-693-1900 or email: and refer to File#46237 if interested in giving Home Fry a home when he is ready.
