A totally miserably neglected Mastiff was rescued by Associated Humane Societies' Animal Control Officer, Kevin Rooney, after she had been running in the woods. According to Neptune Police, they have spotted her in the area for awhile. She was probably starting to give up on life. When the ACO approached, she ran a short distance but he was finally able to get close enough to secure her. By the time Kevin arrived at the Tinton Falls facility, she strolled in on a leash. Whoever owned her didn't deserve her. We do not know if she was lost, strayed, stolen or abandoned -- but if she had been microchipped, we could have identified an owner.
The Cane Corso Mastiff mix is estimated to be around 1 1/2 - 2 years old.
The emaciated dog needs some time to build up her physical condition. She sorely lacks the affection needed to help rebuild her confidence and care. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, there is no time factor involved in rescuing and caring for needy animals that come through our doors.
The staff has fallen in love with this very sweet lass and call her Princess. She is at the Tinton Falls facility and is hoping for the love and hope that comes with the holiday season. She just hasn't had any ….. You are urged to help us in our continual need of funds for the animals that come through our doors. Please help support our Res-Q Fund!
