When a New York shelter posted this little guy as `in danger of being destroyed' on the internet, we just had to help. His name is Jack and Jack is a 5 year old Pekingese that had the unfortunate luck of being neglected for quite some time, then tossed out on the city streets to fend for himself.
Jack is blind and it's evident that he has suffered with ocular disease for quite some time. Had his disease been treated at the onset, he would not have been in the painful condition that he has been living in for all this time. We made the arrangements to get Jack to us at Popcorn Park, and he is in good spirits and is happy to be safe, warm and comfortable, but his eyes are causing him a great deal of pain. One can only imagine how uncomfortable and miserable he must feel. We are so happy to have him with us though and now, the healing process can begin.
We already have Jack on medications to alleviate the pain and soon he will have the much needed surgery on his eyes. Thanks to our generous supporters who contribute to our Res-Q Fund, we are able to help little Jack and so many others like him. Our Res-Q Fund was set up to help special needs cases, like Jack. Please make a donation toward Jack's care
Jack is not available for adoption at this time and has a long road to recovery ahead of him. We will post updates on this handsome little guy soon, so stayed tuned for more on Jack.
