Vale - Thin, Abandoned In Park in Freezing Rain

A pathetically thin dog was found wandering aimlessly in Newark’s Vailsburg Park.

A resident who lives near the park spotted the boxer mix and immediately rescued him. She brought him to AHS for further care and necessary medical attention. In the past, Vailsburg Park has been notorious for dogfighting. It is not known if this dog had been a stray, an unwanted pet, or stolen to be used as bait, but he ended up in the wrong hands. Obviously, his docile demeanor was not a workable candidate for their purposes …. and so he was left on his own. He may have once had a loving home … but the young man is now a stranger to happiness.

They left him alone in the cold, rainy, sub-freezing temperatures.

We call him `Vale' and he is getting all of the necessary medical care so that he can receive the joy, comfort and confidence that he hasn’t received in quite a while. We are there for Vale as we are for the hundreds of needy animals that arrive every month who require food, medical care, warmth, the love of our staff and volunteers. Open your heart for Valentine’s Day and please donate to our Res-Q Fund.

Vale is at the Society’s Newark facility, located at 124 Evergreen Ave. in Newark, just off of Rt. 9 near the Newark International Airport and the NJ Turnpike. For more information on Vale, call the Society at 973-824-7080 or e-mail us and refer to File 122339-M.
