Update on Van Gogh - Feb. 8

Our little friend Vinnie had a huge day today! After his hearty breakfast this morning, he actually took a very short walk around his room, which absolutely thrilled all of us. He had his morning visit from Dr. Baris, who administered all of his medications and gave him his daily checkup. Vinnie’s temperature continues to stay normal and the swelling in his legs is about the same. Dr. Baris removed several sutures from his head today, which seemed to be a relief for our little buddy. After all of that, we were given the ok to get Vinnie some fresh air! He got all bundled up and took a short stroll outside. He was so happy to look around and check things out, and was particularly interested in his security team, the Patrolling Peacocks, who followed him closely to keep an eye on things. Afterward, Vinnie had a well-deserved nap and a good dinner. He is gaining strength, and we really could not be happier.

In case you missed Vinnie’s original story, you can read it here.

His condition is still very critical. We are not even remotely close to thinking about an adoptive home for Vinnie, so please adopt another wonderful dog in his honor, because he is far from ready for a home. Vinnie gets stronger every day and we appreciate so much all of your thoughts, prayers, gifts, donations, and well wishes. If you would like to contribute to Vinnie’s medical expenses, please donate to our Res-Q Fund.

Please continue to share Vinnie’s story and maybe we’ll raise awareness about the horrors of dog fighting and animal cruelty. There are others out there like Vinnie, that need our help too. Thank you.
