Van Gogh Update - Feb.26

You are getting a little less of a Vinnie Van Gogh update today, because you are getting a little less of Vinnie, literally! Vinnie is finally well enough to head on down to see his good buddy Dr. Baris and get himself neutered. (Gasp!)

Vinnie with Vet Tech, Jessica Maser.

We had a little talk with Mr. Van Gogh and explained to him just how important it is to spay and neuter pets. We told him about the overpopulation of homeless animals in this world, and he was very sad to hear that nearly 5 million dogs and cats died in animal shelters in 2013 due to overpopulation. We also explained to him that if people would come to their senses and stop breeding their animals, then those numbers would be much, much lower, and so many shelter pets would get the wonderful homes that they deserve.

Forked River Office Manager, Cathi Gray, (kissing Vinnie), our veterinarian Dr. Laney Baris, and Jessica.

Vinnie thought all of this over, and agreed that neutering is definitely the way to go. He said that anything that he could do to help fellow shelter friends, he was all for it! So, Vinnie got lots of hugs and well wishes from his many staff friends (as you can see!) then took a nice long nap. He made it through his procedure like a little trooper and is resting very comfortably this evening. While Vinnie was napping, Dr. Baris also took some xrays and ran some other tests, so we should have an update on the condition of Vinnie's legs and some other things real soon.

Thank you as always, for all of your support of our little invincible Vinnie. If you have missed any of our updates on Vinnie check out his original story, and follow his progress through the links on the right. Your donations are helping Vinnie get through all his medical work, so please make a contribution to our Res-Q Fund to help him and many others in need.

More from the Vin Man real soon!
