Van Gogh - Update March 1

Vinnie had a BIG day today he took a real walk outside to celebrate his one month anniversary with us! We cannot even believe that Vinnie survived all that he went through a little over a month ago, so to see him up, walking, wagging that tail of his and sniffing trees, is truly miraculous! Vinnie took it very slow and needed support for both his front and back end, but he did great and thoroughly enjoyed himself. It was good to get his legs moving again and get his blood flowing too.

We are thrilled with the progress that Vinnie has made over the last month but have some concerns over Vinnie's hind legs and hips. Vinnie's good friend Dr. Baris has taken some more x rays and ran some tests, and found some abnormalities, so Vinnie will be seeing an orthopedic surgeon in the near future for evaluation.

We are very fortunate to have our Res-Q Fund to help us with the ongoing medical care for Vinnie. Please make a contribution to our Res-Q Fund to help him with these new expenses. In the meantime, we will continue to take Vinnie on short walks while supporting his back end, and of course, he'll still have his stroller rides.

We are very happy to say that Vinnie has met some other dogs (besides Barkless!) and absolutely loves them. He has met a small, medium and large dog in the last week and just adored them all. This truly proves what an amazing, trusting, forgiving little guy Vinnie is. He holds nothing against anyone and just loves life and everyone in it!

Thank you, as always, for your thoughts, concern and support of our young Vinnie. We truly appreciate it and Vinnie definitely knows how much he is loved. If you have missed any of his updates or his original story, links are available to the right or you can do a search for Van Gogh in our Search box or just click on News. Vinnie's easy to find! Thank you, and stay tuned for more on the invincible Vinnie.
