Is this a cute couple or what?! While Vinnie and Kashi are much too young to be dating (they're not even a year old yet!), we thought it might be permissible to at least take a stroll together, hold paws, and maybe flirt a little bit. The kids had a great time taking a little walk together today and it's just so nice to see them both happy and on their feet!
Kashi is doing very well after her major surgery just a few days ago. Kashi came to us a week ago when she was near death, due to an obstruction that was left untreated. We are so glad that we got to her in time but even still, feared that it might be too late. When our veterinarians, Dr. Baris and Dr. Nalven, performed the surgery, they had to remove over two feet of Kashi's intestine. Another day in that condition and she may not have made it.
It's so very sad to think that someone let her get in that state and did not get her help. Kashi was just skin and bones and could barely hold herself up. Obviously, she is doing so much better now! She has a healthy appetite again and her recovery is going very well. Our veterinarians feel that in another 7 to 10 days, Kashi will be ready to start interviewing potential adopters that would love to make her a part of their family.
Vinnie is doing fantastic, as you can see. He tried showing off a little in front of the beautiful Kashi by strutting a little too quickly, so he was a bit tired after his walk, but he still had enough energy to do his Vinnie-howl for his dinner! Vinnie will be going for the first of two necessary surgeries to repair his broken hips in just a few days, and he would like to request that you keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Our little guy is so tough and strong, and we are very confident that he will pull through these procedures just fine and that one day, he'll be able to run, jump and play with the best of them!
