Van Gogh - Update - April 21

Our little guy Vinnie is doing just great these days and recovering nicely after his last hip surgery only a week ago. If it weren't for his shaved legs and stitches, you wouldn't even know that Vinnie had surgery! He continues to try and run to greet all of his friends, and even climb the ledge by the cat yards to get closer to his feline friends. Even two major hip surgeries isn't keeping Vinnie down!

Since Vinnie's surgery last week, we had to cut his room back down to a studio apartment again. Vinnie is not thrilled with that, but it's in his own best interest. We recently received some beautiful donations of soft, cushy dog beds, and lots of nice, new bedding, so Vinnie got himself a new bed today complete with throw pillows! We would really like to thank all of you for your donations for Vinnie and all of the animals in our facility. We use every bit of them! Vinnie's beautiful new bed setup didn't stay perfect for too long ... like lots of men, Vinnie tossed the throw pillows aside and got snack crumbs all over the comforter!

We would also really like to thank all of you that have helped us with Vinnie's medical expenses by contributing to our Res-Q Fund. You all have probably noticed all of the special cases that we have had come in to our three facilities lately, and since we do everything in our power to save these special needs animals, we rely heavily on our Res-Q Fund to enable us to do that. Thank you all for contributing to our Res-Q Fund. We could not help these animals without you. If you'd like to make a donation to our fund, it is greatly appreciated.

Vinnie has about a week to go before his sutures are removed and he goes for a recheck. He is obviously very eager to take off his inflatable collar, have his old giant apartment back, and most of all, start therapy. Vinnie has several months of physical therapy ahead of him and since he heard the therapy involved swimming, he's been checking out some swim trunks and shades. (We told him he's not going to the beach to swim, but he still wants to look cool for his new adventure!)

But seriously, since Vinnie still has quite a lot on his plate, we are still limiting his visitors to staff members only. We need to keep Vinnie as healthy as can be so that he can stay on this road to recovery without any speed bumps. We hope all of you that have asked to meet Vinnie understand. Don't worry though, Vinnie gets lots and lots of attention every day and definitely knows how much he's loved! Thank you all for following him along on his journey, and please stay tuned for more from the Invincible Vinnie.
