Neglected Mastiff Mixes Abandoned to Roam

It was a responsibility that was never fulfilled by an owner/caregiver. Due to their skin condition and the obvious lack of nutrition, it was easier to either leave the door or the gate open rather than care for them and obtain veterinary care. Now these once-awesome Mastiff mixes were abandoned and allowed to run free. A concerned homeowner saw the imposing duo traveling on his street and corralled them into his garage.

At that point, the Associated Humane Societies was called to pick up the delinquent doggies. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene and discovered the pathetic pair who were in need of extensive and prolonged treatment for demodectic mange. Due to their poor condition, they were immediately put on intravenous fluids as their bodies were seriously compromised.

A healthy, nutritious diet which had been lacking has been started. This is a work in progress and within a reasonable amount of time, they will be on their way to finding a very special spot in someone's home and heart thanks to the AHS Res-Q Fund. Contributions are always needed for those that come after this impressive pair, as well. It is double the work and effort but clearly, it will be double the reward to see them drastically improve in body and their personalities and transform into majestic Mastiffs.

For more information on Will and Grace, call the AHS at 732-922-0100 or e-mail us and refer to Files 79866 and 79867. The Society is located at 2960 Shafto Road in Tinton Falls.
