Franky - Update Dec. 14

The success or failure of orphans that come through our doors depends upon their will to live. From the very beginning, the imploring eyes and Franky's weary body showed an eagerness to befriend the staff. Through weeks of care, he survived the poking, prodding of a terribly infected wound caused by a deeply embedded shoelace. (Read Franky's original story here.)

In our past experience, we have found that youngsters use shoestrings to keep a young pup close to them. Many times, children want to be able to give love and attention to a dog that is not a family pet . but a stray that a youngster befriends and wants to keep as his own. The shoelace around this dog's neck is believed to be a harmless act of a loving child who wants and needs a childhood friend and a family who doesn't understand. Somehow it is believed that this dog was allowed to leave on his own and the shoelace continued to become embedded as the dog grew. It is a fictional account but it could have happened to this dog.

Due to the frenetic pace of more and more sick and injured animals that arrive in our Newark Medical Dept., it was decided that Franky Shoelace would move to our Tinton Falls Medical Dept. where he will blossom in a more peaceful atmosphere.

You can help by making a donation to our Res-Q Fund or you can text Humane Help to 41444. Franky Shoelace will be ready for adoption shortly. For more information, call 732-922-0100 or e-mail tintonfallsahs@aol.com

Give Franky a wonderful beginning to a New Year!!!
