Maura - Neglected, Abandoned, Tied to Railing

The AHS was contacted by a Newark resident who complained about a dog that was in the hallway tied to banister for a "few days".

It is believed that the dog belonged to the tenant but she was probably too embarrassed to acknowledge ownership since the dogt was in a terribly neglected condition. There was no food or water in the hallway; nor was there any fecal matter for a dog that had supposedly been there for a few days.

How sad that this dog was neglected . and then forsaken by an owner who no longer wanted her. We call this sweetie "Maura" and she deserves a chance at a new life and a responsible and caring owner. For more information, e-mail us and refer to Tag 17817.

If you would like to help with the continued onrush of animals and our vigorous adoption program, please contribute to this continued effort.
