Eddy and Edith - Abandoned in Sweltering Heat

The internet has been all abuzz with pleas for help for two abandoned pit bulls in Newark, NJ recently. We are very happy to report that Eddy and Edith are safe and sound, and resting comfortably at our AHS Newark facility.

Apparently the pair were abandoned by a heartless owner, who chained them to a fence in the sweltering summer-like weather. Thankfully, a good samaritan happened upon the pair and did not rest until someone stepped in to help them. The city of Newark Animal Control was called AND ADVISED THAT THEY WOULD BE THERE IN 3 DAYS!!! THE AHS facility in Newark took the call. ACO Tom Circle went out to retrieve the panting but grateful pair and brought them to the cool safety of the van, then transported them to AHS Newark. You will see here in the picture above (courtesy of Dee Barlotta) the manner in which these poor dogs were abandoned and you have to wonder, what goes through someone's mind that commits such a cruel act? Thank goodness there are still good people in the world, like the person that didn't rest until the dogs were brought to safety.

Eddy and Edith are about 1 1/2 years old and both appear to be in good health, despite the ordeal they both suffered. It appears that Edith may have recently had puppies and we shudder to think of the fate of those poor pups. Eddy and Edith are in good hands and will receive all of the rest, relaxation, good meals and medical care that they deserve, thanks to the caring and compassionate supporters that contribute to our Res-Q Fund. To make a donation to on their behalf, please contribute to our Res-Q Fund.

Eddy and Edith will be available for adoption WITHIN A WEEK so please stay tuned for more from our new friends.

For more information, call ahs a 973-824-707\80 and ask about Eddy (#21680) and Edith (21681)
