The young emaciated pup was found on a heavily traveled street in Asbury Park. He had barely enough skin to cover his body and the neglected boy was left to survive on his own. There were no identification tags or microchips to trace an owner. Had he been left out on his own any longer, he could have been a victim of the elements, starvation or even a statistic as bait in the dog fighting rings.
We call him Smeagol as the namesake of a "Lord of the Rings" hobbit-type creature. The blue-eyed hopeful pup has a whole lot of love and trust that he is waiting to give to someone. During the Christmas holidays, while there is joy and anticipation surrounding the season, we hope that there is a family looking to give a lifetime of love and care to a hopeful pup - for that is the greatest gift of all.
Smeagol is waiting at the Associated Humane Societies' Tinton Falls facility at 2960 Shafto Road in Tinton Falls, just off of Exit 102 (So.) or Exit 100B (No.) of the Garden State Parkway; only a few miles from the Rt. 33-34 Circle. For more information, call the Society at 732-922-0100 or e-mail us and refer to File 72801. You can e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org. The Society is open days a week for your convenience.
