Uggs - Caught on a Fence and Rescued

When a couple in Barnegat began hearing soft meowing coming from their backyard right before Christmas, they searched high and low for the source. For two days the search went on, with no luck in finding the kitty that was letting out the quiet cries. Finally by the third day, after more extensive searching, they had found him ..... a tiny black and white male kitten was hanging from the back of a fence, with his leg caught between the posts.

They rushed him right to our veterinarians at Popcorn Park Animal Clinic for treatment. The little guys leg was badly swollen and they feared a break, but x-rays showed just profound soft tissue swelling. Upon further examination, it was also discovered that this little boy also had multiple fractured teeth and was dehydrated as well. The healing process began, and this little baby, who was named Uggs, was given the medical care he needed, a soft, warm bed, and some good meals to get him on the road to recovery.

Uggs received physical therapy for his leg injury and is making remarkable progress. He is now healthy, happy, and ready for a home to call his own. This 2 1/2 month old kitten is calm, quiet, shy and loving and would love a good, safe home with people that will care for him and love him the way he deserves. Please consider opening your heart and home to our little Uggs.

It is only due to the generosity of our supporters that we are able to help Uggs, and so many others. Our Res-Q Fund was designed to provide the medical care that is needed to get so many wonderful animals back on their feet. Please consider making a contribution today to our Res-Q Fund so that we can continue to help the many other Uggs of the world.

Uggs is at Popcorn Park waiting for a meowvelous new home. For more information, call the Society at 609-693-1900 or e-mail us. Popcorn Park is located at Humane Way, off Lacey Road in Forked River, off of Exit 74 (South, North) of the Garden State Parkway. Popcorn Park is open 7 days a week.
