Fendi, an adorable, 4 month old ShihTzu was surrendered to our facility recently due to an accident which left his hind leg badly injured He was admitted to our Medical Department where necessary x-rays were taken and it was determined that Fendi’s injuries were so severe he needed surgery to repair the damage. He was transported to NorthStar Vets in Robbinsville, NJ where veterinarians who specialize in orthopedics advised that Fendi had a slipped epiphysis (growth plate) and he would require immediate surgery.
After the surgery, Fendi will need continued therapy during his growth into adulthood to ensure that the pins and plate do not hamper his continued growth. There may be some minor lasting effects to his gait. He will recuperate at the Society's Forked River facility while waiting for that special home.

Fendi is your typical, happy-go-lucky pup who longs for lots of hugs and kisses to keep him happy. He has a charming personality and gets along well with both cats and dogs. Due to his injury and subsequent rehabilitation, once he is cleared for adoption, an adult home would be preferred.
Thanks to donations to the Society's Res-Q Fund , our non-profit, charitable organization is on board to help this pup experience a normal life.
