Kat is a 7 1/2 year old Jack Russell Terrier that came to us in the spring of 2012 from Patuxent Animal Paws in Annapolis, Maryland. His sweet, gentle and warm personality won us over right away, and we've been hoping for a wonderful home for him ever since. We never dreamed that Kat would be with us for so long. He is such a great little guy, it's hard to believe that no one has come along yet to make him a part of their family. Kat has made so many friends here and with his perfect little personality, it's impossible not to love him. He is quiet, easy going, very well behaved, and so loving. He just wants a warm lap to curl up in and an occasional walk or game of fetch with a good friend.
We recently noticed that Kat developed a mass and surgery would be necessary to remove it due to the rapid rate in which it was growing. Biopsies were taken when the mass was removed, and sadly, the mass was malignant. Kat pulled through the procedure like a little trooper and although the surgery was successful, it is very likely that this sarcoma will reoccur. It's impossible to determine how long it will be, but we are hopeful that Kat has some good times ahead of him still.
To know Kat is to love him, and if you have the love in your heart to share with this little guy, for however long he will be with us, we urge you to come and meet him. He'll win you over for sure, and all he asks is that he be an only pet. If you think you could give our sweet boy the home of his dreams, please feel free to call our veterinarian, Dr. Laney Baris at 609-693-6551 and she will tell you more about his condition. Then come on in and meet Kat, and try to find it in your heart to give this little guy the one and only wish that he has in his heart ...... a wonderful, loving home for the rest of his days.
Kat is at Popcorn Park at our Forked River shelter. Please feel free to call 609-693-1900 or e-mail us.
If you cannot adopt Kat, can you send a donation to our Res-Q Fund in Kat's name. The Res-Q Fund helps us to care for the sick and injured animals that come through our doors.
