Adopt an AHS/Popcorn Park Pet;
Get Taxes Done for Free
TOMS RIVER, NJ – Sure, you can’t claim your dog or cat as a dependent on your income tax return, but adopt a pet from Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park this tax season and one local preparer is making April 15 a little easier to handle.
That’s because Liberty Tax Service at 100 Route 37 East, here, will prepare taxes for free to their first 50 clients who adopt a pet from The Societies between now and April 15. Anyone who adopts after the first 50 can have their tax returns prepared at half-price.
“We just love Associated Humane Societies and Popcorn Park. What they do for the community and for all of Ocean County is wonderful. We are hoping that our promotion will inspire folks to help AHS and bring a new family member into their lives,” said Robin, a Liberty manager.
Robin said all new pet owners need to do is bring in proof of their completed adoption from the AHS shelter, and if they are among the first 50, the complete tax preparation is free. The offer is available only at the Liberty Tax office at 100 Route 37 East.
“We are grateful to Liberty Tax for this creative way of helping us find homes for the hundreds of orphaned cats, dogs, kittens and puppies in our care. Getting that tax return completed is definitely better when it is free. And life is always better with a furry companion,” said Popcorn Park General Manager John Bergmann.
